Developing an Artistic Project

An initial conversation before we begin gives us the opportunity to discuss the repertoire, your artistic goals and the project you have in mind. Together, we decide whether and how to begin working together.

The programme may already be set, or we can develop it together.

We define the artistic direction of the project and identify the questions and aspects that will be at the centre of our work.

The programme can focus entirely on Art Song or include other repertoire, depending on what creates the most coherent artistic profile.

Our work centres on text and language, musical structure and phrasing, style, character and dramatic situation, timing, tone colour and articulation — as well as the relationship between voice and piano and the artistic decisions that shape an interpretation.

Brief feedback between sessions is possible, or alternatively towards the end of the process, based on a recording or performance.

The sessions provide the framework. The real development happens in the work between sessions.

The work is centred around a specific project — a song recital, a recording, an audition, a competition or an examination.

What can be achieved in this time depends on the repertoire, the starting point and the work between sessions.

60–90 minute sessions
The twelve hours can be scheduled as weekly sessions or arranged as a more concentrated phase of work over four to six weeks.
Singers, pianists and duos
Online or in person in Berlin

The initial consultation and brief feedback between sessions are included in the package.
